Ana’s Travel Tips: Preparing to travel to a new city
You may have seen that I recently came back from Panama! Over the years, I’ve realized that there are a few things that make my trips stress-free. Below are my tips to be prepared when traveling to a new city:
- Bring an external charger – This is extra helpful when I know I’ll be out and about all day! I have an Anker charger that provides at least two full charges in a breeze. It also fits great in small purses.
- No rolling bags! – On weekend trips, I avoid bags with wheels! Most major cities involve a lot of walking and don’t have many escalators (like NY & Boston!). Having a bag you can carry instead of roll, is a lifesaver!! My brown vegan Sole Society Lacie bag is a perfect carry-on!
- Become a bag lady (or gentleman) – I love using Bag-All to organize (and remember) various items like sleepwear, undergarments, jewelry, etc. My two favorite bags are the toiletry bag which can be hung, and the “wash me” bag which helps separate already used clothes.
- Phone plan – When traveling abroad, be sure to have an international phone plan that has the same features as the ones at home! My absolute feature was being able to save restaurants, coffee shops, and attraction on my Google maps (which pins a yellow star on a map) so I didn’t have to constantly look for up a place that was recommended!
