The RBC Columbia Group, a financial organization in Washington, DC, updated their business headshots and marketing photos. For headshots do you recommend we use our office or a backdrop?

I enjoy photographing in-office headshots because it allows folks to have a unique and natural looking background. That said, I recommend a plain backdrop for folks who have a lot of satellite offices or remote folks. That will be the best way to keep uniform over time.

How early should we plan our headshots?

I typically recommend a month before your desired date. This allows us to finalize details and also give your colleagues a heads up. That way, if they need to make hair, make up, or attire appointments, they have plenty of time to do so.

Do you offer hair and makeup as add ons?

Absolutely! I work with a few fantastic hair and makeup professionals who will come on-site to ensure everyone is looking their best. I highly recommend having professional hair and makeup because it gives your headshots a bit of an extra touch.

How often should we be getting headshots and team photos?

I recommend every 3 years. By that time, folks have changed their looks and your organization may have different employees.
