Back to the Homeland

I am so excited to be traveling to Peru this weekend! I’ve gone back every year for the last 7 years and each time it’s for a different reason. This time, I’ll be celebrating my grandmother’s 80th birthday! I’ll also finally celebrate my birthday in Peru, in the summer, and not during a holiday weekend (when everyone is gone) for the first time in almost 17 years!! And, last but not least, I’ll definitely get a chance to do at least one portrait session while I’m there! So many good things to look forward to!

I often get the question: “Are you going to Machu Picchu?” I’m not going this time but I did get a chance to go back in 2008 with one of my best friends. I actually used to only shoot film at the time (that’s how I learned photography) and dug up one of my favorites from the roll:

It is seriously a place everyone should go to at last once! It’s beautiful up there!!! Even though I won’t be seeing the Andes this year, I’ll leave you with some other photos from that trip! Have a great weekend everyone!
