I specialize in capturing celebratory B'nai Mitzvah, corporate events and headshots, and influential events for political candidates and companies.
Born in Peru, and now based in Washington, DC, I love traveling and dining at every oyster bar along the way. I can’t wait to team up with you and capture your personal piece of history.

The SHRM Foundation held the Tharseo Awards Gala at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC. The event included a red carpet welcome, a VIP reception, and an awards ceremony.
The details and execution of the event was flawless. The live music added just the right touch between speakers and throughout the event. The floral arrangements were absolutely beautiful and draped perfectly over the stage. The lighting throughout the interior gave the room a glow, making it feel homey and welcoming for guests. This awards gala is truly one of my favorite events to photograph!
Our team of four included two photographers, and editor, and an assistant. We were able to deliver on-site preview photos for the clients to share on social media the same night.

Q&A about this event:
How many photographers are required for a large-scale event like this?
We had a four person team for this event. One at VIP reception, one with general reception, an assistant, and a live editor. This allowed the client to be able to receive photos almost instantly and post them live.
How often do you have one photographer just at VIP receptions?
We almost always are photographing high-level events with VIPs, and having a dedicated photographer for the VIP reception is critical. We urge all clients to do so so that the client ensures the VIPs, CEOs, and other important guests are photographed at the beginning of the event.
Why do some events require an assistant and not others?
When photographing at historic buildings like the Andrew Mellon, we oftentimes have to set up on another floor and far away from the actual event. In addition, there’s little cell or radio communication, making it a challenge to communicate when not in the main reception area. Having an assistant allows that connection between the editor in the separate location and the rest of the team.
How do you handle the awards portion?
The primary photographer will be up front by the stage ready for the awards ceremony. Once the awardee has received their award, they will make their presence known for the awardees and presenter to look at the camera. Then, they’ll discretely continue to cover the speeches.
