It’s been a really busy few months! So busy, I have totally forgotten about some of the blog series I started! So in hopes of getting back on track, I’m bringing back my Behind the Camera series. It is a monthly post of things you may have not seen on social media from all aspects of my life, taken on my iPhone. They are the imperfect yet fun photos that I would share with any of my friends, including you!
Without much further ado, here’s what happened in May:
Now that he’s out of school, Zhidong and I have been playing tourists in DC! We took a tour of the Library of Congress and saw Jefferson’s books.
I have been looking for a blazer for months because it’s hard to find something that looks good and fits my long arms! That’s when I turned to Mario Rojas, who crafted a custom blazer for me. Last week, he took my final measurements to make those final adjustments and I cannot wait to show you all the final product!!! He is amazing and truly cares about his customers and their needs!
The Taste of Peru is an annual festival in DC that showcases the culture and of course, lots of food!! I was glad to attend this year and eat some of my favorite dishes: anticuchos, papa a la huancaina, and big Peruvian corn!
LJ is such a cutie! We photographed his family portraits at the Kennedy Center and of course, I had to get my picture taken with him (and his pocky snack!).
(I wasn’t kidding when I said imperfect iPhone photos :-))
Most people don’t know that I live with two roommates: Ruth and Eva. It’s actually awkward calling them roommates because we’re really good friends! We celebrated Eva’s birthday this month and figured it was a good time to take a picture together!
A few times this month, the three of us have gone on a picnic, but one day, Ruth and I decided to work outside on Capitol Hill. I think we laughed the entire bike ride to the park, and then some! It’s great living with people who are just as nerdy and excited about being outside as I am!
As we wrap up May, June is pride month! Gina and I attended The Trevor Project‘s gala, raising money to continue their work in crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth. It is truly a great organization that is helping our community!
That’s my post for this month! Be sure to also follow on Instagram!
Hi! I'm Ana! Thanks for stopping by! I'm a wedding, family, and corporate photographer in the nation's capital. When I'm not shooting, I'm often dining at new restaurants or at the bar enjoying an old fashioned with friends. I love living in Washington, DC and looking at the monuments gets better each time!
